Leadership Empowerment International Network (LEIN) is an International Interdenominational and Non-political Leadership Network whose main objective is to empower both Christian and Corporate Leaders to make them more effective in matters of governance and serving their communities.
This vision was established in 2012 by two individuals who were given a vision in two different countries and at different times. They are Mr. Dr. David Makimei from Kenya and Mr. Pastor Selestin Mwiburo from Burundi. Isaiah 1.1. Through this vision and inspiration, God brought them together, in 2012 while sharing this vision led to the formation of an organization called LEARN ie Leadership Empowerment Africa Region Network, this organization had a vision to reach Africa and its people.
It was in the August of 2012 when three individuals representing their countries, Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania decided to hold their first conference in Bunjumbura Burundi, after confirming this vision these three individuals recognized that this vision came from God and hence it was good this vision should be sustainable.
Burundi conference gave birth to the second conference in 2013 in Kenya under the three nations with these leaders Mr. Selestin Mwiburo, Dr. Bishop Makimei, Mr. Mathew Ikombe and James Sawa. It’s in this conference that South Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda were welcome to join.
This vision continued to gain strength and led to the organization of the third conference which was planned for Tanzania between 27 – 30 August 2014 with member countries, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan and Rwanda fully represented.
The conference was a success and a great blessing which resulted with the following resolutions: –
1 Expanding the vision and getting a new name for the organization LEIN meaning Leadership Empowerment International Network.
2 Passing of LEIN constitution 2014 and its officially recognition.
3 This vision will be introduced to Government leaders and Religious Institutions in Tanzania in Arusha.
4 Recognizing and introducing the Tanzania National Leaders, Rev. Philemon Mashauri, chairman and vice-chair Bishop Ezra, Secretary Samuel E. Koikai.
5 In this conference, the member countries were also officially introduced to those who attended and those who applied to join this service in front of the regional leader Mr. Magesa Mlongo who was represented by the District Head of Arusha District.
After this Conference, the leaders organized the fourth conference which was held in Uganda in August 2015.
And last year 2016 it was held in December in Tanzania in the city of Arusha.
